According to Naija News, the minister highlighted significant successes achieved by the Nigerian military in combating insecurity in the region, crediting these victories to the dedication and professionalism of the Armed Forces.

Dr. Matawalle emphasized the military’s crucial role in safeguarding the nation, stating, “The Armed Forces will remain pivotal in maintaining peace and security across Nigeria.” He also praised President Tinubu for his administration’s commitment to providing the necessary resources to enhance operational efficiency in the fight against security threats in the North-West.

The minister reaffirmed the government’s strategic focus on strengthening the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and other military branches to intensify efforts against insecurity. His visit to Sokoto, alongside the Chief of Defence Staff and other senior military officials, aimed to reassure the local populace of the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring peace in the area.

During the operations, key bandit leaders, including the notorious Halilu Buzu Sububu, were eliminated, underscoring the government’s determination to dismantle criminal networks. Dr. Matawalle urged residents of Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi states to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces to ensure the continued success of military efforts.
