Delta Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, undertakes a visit to Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state following a tragic ambush resulting in casualties among military personnel and civilians.
The purpose of the governor’s visit is to assess the extent of the damage incurred during the incident.
However, journalists faced restrictions as the military Joint Task Force (JTF) prohibited media coverage of the governor’s tour to the troubled area.
JTF personnel implemented strict control measures, including the deployment of an armoured personnel carrier tank to block major entry points to Okuama, effectively halting both vehicular and pedestrian access, which included journalists seeking entry to cover the event.
Upon arrival, Governor Oborevwori was greeted by Major General Jamaal Abdulsalam, the leader of the JTF’s 6th Division Nigerian Army.
Further details will be provided shortly.
