Nigerian actress Etinosa Idemudia has opened up about how fellow actress Mercy Johnson came to her rescue after she received threats from her ex-husband.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In an interview with Chude, Etinosa explained that the threats began after she discussed her past relationship during a media interview.
She revealed that her ex-husband became upset after her comments were taken out of context, prompting him to threaten her safety. Initially, Etinosa tried to handle the matter privately but eventually turned to social media for help as the threats escalated.
Mercy Johnson intervened, leveraging her military connections to escalate the matter to the Chief of Naval Staff. This involvement brought authorities from Abuja into the situation, effectively preventing her ex-husband from further harassment.
Recalling the incident, Etinosa said:
“I went for an interview about the film ‘Stormy Heart.’ At that time, I was very inexperienced and answered honestly about my past relationships. I mentioned that one relationship nearly ruined me—it was with my ex-husband. But the media twisted my words, focusing on marriage aspects I never intended to share. My ex-husband then called, accusing me of trying to ruin his career and started threatening me, saying I should publicly retract my statements. I asked him, do you want me to put myself under the box for you?”
“When the threats became unbearable, I posted about it on Instagram. Many people reached out, but I especially remember Mercy Johnson. Because of her strong military background, she promised to forward the case to the Chief of Naval Staff. Soon after, someone from Abuja contacted me saying they were handling the matter, and my ex-husband would no longer bother me.”
Etinosa was previously married to Babatunde Solomon, a military officer; their marriage ended between 2017 and 2018. She later married Ighorosa, a lawyer based in Benin, but they divorced in 2021 after having their first child.
