In a snippet from her TV show, Mercy’s Menu, where she spoke with veteran actress Joke Silva, Mercy opened up about her past health challenges and sudden weight loss. During the conversation, she revealed that doctors initially feared a tumour on her thyroid might be cancerous, prompting her to undergo surgery to remove the thyroid.

The resurfaced clip led to widespread misunderstanding among fans, with many assuming the actress was currently battling cancer. As a result, Mercy began receiving numerous calls, prayers, and messages of support.

Responding to the confusion in a video shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Mercy clarified that while she experienced a cancer scare in the past, she is currently healthy and cancer-free.

She said:
“Thank you to everyone who has been calling, sending messages, and offering prayers—I truly appreciate it. But I want to clarify that I do not have cancer.

“A clip from Mercy’s Menu has been circulating, but it was edited. I said I had a cancer scare, not that I have cancer. I had a swelling on my neck—if you look closely, you’ll see the line from the surgery. My doctors were initially concerned, but it turned out to be an issue with my thyroid.
