The statement clarified:
“Our attention has been drawn to a social media post alleging that His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has announced his intention to run for the Senate in 2027. This information is entirely unfounded and did not originate from the governor.”
It further stressed that Governor Sule has not granted any interviews, held meetings, or communicated with individuals or groups regarding any future political ambitions, including a Senate bid.
“For clarity, Governor Sule has never authorized or encouraged anyone to present him as a candidate for Senate or any other office,” Addra emphasized.
The statement acknowledged that while various groups and individuals have urged the governor to contest for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat, he has consistently declined such appeals, stating that his priority remains serving the people of Nasarawa State faithfully.
“Each time such proposals have been made, Governor Sule has respectfully but firmly declined, reiterating that his focus is on fulfilling his mandate as governor,” it noted.
Governor Sule reaffirmed his commitment to the progress of the state, saying:
“He remains dedicated to his vision of leaving Nasarawa in a better condition than he met it.”
Despite receiving support and encouragement from political allies and constituents, the governor has made it clear that he has not expressed interest in pursuing any future political office.
The statement concluded by urging the public and his supporters to continue backing his administration’s developmental goals for Nasarawa State.
