Military Cooperation: Army Collaborates With NDLEA, Surrenders Suspected Criminal And Large Cannabis Haul In Ogun

The 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Abeokuta has transferred a total of 176kg of Indian hemp to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Lt. The incident leading to the seizure occurred on January 6 when the army, during a patrol along the Imeko-Abeokuta Road in Ogun, apprehended Fatai Bankole (25) in possession of drugs.

Lt. Mohammed Goni quoted Col. Legborsi Nule as affirming, “The army will continue to sustain efforts at collaborating with security agencies to rid the state of crimes and all forms of criminality.” He emphasized the brigade’s dedication to upholding high standards and professionalism among its troops in the execution of their duties.

Mrs. Jane Odili, the NDLEA Commandant in Ogun, received the drugs and the suspect, commending the brigade’s efforts. She also sought further collaboration between the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to combat drug-related crimes.
