The objective is to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, and non-compliant facilities will face subsequent enforcement actions, resulting in sanctions for their environmental transgressions.

Highlighting the urgency of the matter, Prof. Aliyu Jauro, the Director-General of NESREA, revealed that his office is inundated daily with complaints from Nigerians regarding the activities of various facilities, citing adverse effects on health and the environment. Despite serving notice of compliance concerns to these facilities, many have persisted in violating environmental standards.
