Minister Of Agriculture Vows To Combat Hunger In Nigeria

However, he emphasized that the political will demonstrated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through his “Renewed Hope” agenda is a beacon of hope to address these challenges.
Kyari stated, “We have a big challenge but not one that is insurmountable. Our target is not only to secure and feed the country but also to export food, which we have the potential for and is ready to be tapped.”
In line with the “Renewed Hope” agenda, Senator Aliyu Abdullahi, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, expressed his commitment to driving the agricultural sector’s agenda.
He highlighted the declaration of a food security emergency by President Tinubu and emphasized the ministry’s vital role in achieving this mission.
Abdullahi stated, “With the ‘Renewed Hope’ and Agenda of Mr. President, Commander in Chief, and to ensure that the rechristening of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is not without purpose. We shall get to that promised land.”
The ministers announced their plans to engage with ministry staff to understand its current state and future direction. Dr. Ernest Umakhihe, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, expressed excitement about the two ministers’ appointment, emphasizing their expertise and commitment to enhancing the ministry’s impact.
