In a bold demonstration of commitment to grassroots impact and infrastructural equity, the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh FNSE, undertook a comprehensive inspection tour of key projects currently being executed under the ministry’s supervision across Edo State.

The inspection covered a series of strategic interventions geared towards education, civic engagement, and community development, aligning closely with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Among the projects visited was the construction of a six-block secondary school facility, fully designed to include staff offices and toilet facilities. The school, which is expected to be furnished and equipped upon completion, is part of the ministry’s broader goal to uplift educational standards and provide enabling learning environments in underserved communities.

Equally notable was the visit to an ongoing town hall project—an initiative tailored to serve as a multipurpose civic center for community interactions, local governance meetings, youth engagement, and empowerment programmes.

Speaking after each inspection, Engr. Momoh expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of work, applauding the contractors for their professionalism and adherence to timelines. He emphasized the ministry’s strict focus on accountability and delivery, assuring that no project would be left abandoned or compromised in standard.

“These projects are not just structures; they are symbols of government presence and responsiveness,” the Minister remarked during one of his interviews. “We are not just building walls—we’re building opportunities for learning, interaction, and growth at the grassroots.”

The minister also reiterated that the regional development blueprint is people-focused, and all initiatives are being executed with sustainability and inclusiveness at their core.

This inspection marks yet another milestone in the Ministry of Regional Development’s proactive monitoring and evaluation framework, ensuring that all government-funded projects meet expected standards and fulfill their purpose for the benefiting communities.

As the tour continues in other zones, residents and stakeholders have lauded the minister’s visible and impactful leadership style—one that doesn’t just plan but delivers.
