Mohbad’s Family Addresses Allegations Of Threats Against Late Singer’s Wife....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The family of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, famously known as Mohbad, has officially responded to and refuted claims suggesting that they have issued threats against the life of the deceased’s widow, Wunmi, and their son, Liam….CONTINUE READING
These accusations arose after Wunmi disclosed that she had been receiving intimidating calls warning her against seeking justice for her late husband’s demise.
In a statement issued on Friday evening by the family’s legal representatives, the allegations were characterized as serious, with an appeal to Wunmi to identify any family members allegedly involved in making such threats.
Monisola Odumosu, a member of the legal team, signed the statement, emphasizing that the family has no intention of intimidating Wunmi, despite unresolved issues regarding the paternity of Liam, Mohbad’s purported child.
The statement conveyed, “We have been made aware of circulating news alleging that the Aloba Family, alongside certain bloggers: Bukky Jesse, Yeye Kudi Courtroom, and Adeshina Kasbir Hayat (hereinafter referred to as our Clients), are targeting the life of the widow of late Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
“Due to the gravity of the accusation and the ongoing investigation into the untimely death of the late Mohbad, we find it imperative to respond to Mrs. Wunmi Aloba’s claims.
“In her remarks, Mrs. Wunmi Aloba has raised significant concerns. Firstly, she asserted that ‘her late husband’s family has threatened to harm her and her son.’ However, Mrs. Wunmi Aloba has failed to provide specific names of those who allegedly threatened her and failed to present evidence of such threats from the Aloba Family to the public.
“As the legal principle dictates, ‘he who asserts must prove.’ If Wunmi perceives her pursuit of the truth regarding her late son’s killer as a threat, she should provide evidence to the Nigerian public.
“Our clients have neither intended nor attempted to intimidate the wife of their late son, notwithstanding the unresolved issues regarding the paternity of their grandchild. It is worth noting that even when Wunmi sent a vehement voice message to Mr. Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, Mr. Aloba chose to overlook it, considering the emotional distress caused by the death of his son.
“Secondly, Mrs. Wunmi Aloba claimed to have received threatening calls from various individuals warning her against seeking justice for her late husband’s soul.
“Fortunately, she did not mention in the report that the callers used withheld numbers. Since she has reported this matter to the Nigeria Police, she should allow the authorities to conduct their investigations into the identities of the callers. The Nigerian Police are well-equipped to handle threats made to a complainant over the phone.
“Thirdly, Mrs. Wunmi Aloba expressed dismay that it has been five months since the Coroner’s Court last convened, and she has not received any updates from the court. Our clients share her concerns, and if she requires clarification, she should consult her legal counsel.
“Our clients, particularly the TikTokers, affirm that their comments were fair and aimed to encourage Mrs. Wunmi Aloba to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her husband’s death. If these supportive remarks from our clients were interpreted as threats to her life, it is regrettable.
“It is crucial to clarify that our clients have no motive to issue threats or harass Mrs. Wunmi Aloba in any manner. All efforts are being made to ensure justice for the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad).
“As the saying goes, conscience is an open wound, only truth can heal it, and it is the truth that both our clients and those involved in the campaign to uncover the truth behind the late singer’s death seek.”
