In an interview with BBC Pidgin, Mr. Aloba referred to his son as a close friend and stated that they had a brotherly relationship.

He acknowledged that the controversy surrounding a DNA test on Mohbad’s son has gained national attention and emphasized the importance of handling the matter correctly and in due time.

Aloba commented, “This issue has become a nationwide concern, not just in Nigeria. Therefore, the appropriate steps should be taken at the appropriate time.”

It has been suggested that there is pressure on the Lagos State police to release music promoter Sam Larry, who was arrested and interrogated in connection with the controversial death of the 27-year-old singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad.

Sources at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Yaba, Lagos, have revealed that there have been numerous calls to the Officer in Charge (O/C) SCIID, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Waheed Ayilara, urging the release of the suspect since Sam Larry’s arrest last week.

The sources disclosed that the caller had promised to produce Sam Larry whenever needed. The police sources also mentioned that investigations into the singer’s death are still ongoing, and other leads are being explored.
