Nigeria’s rising economic momentum is no coincidence. In the North-East, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) under the leadership of Managing Director Mohammed Goni Alkali has evolved from a post-insurgency stabilisation agency into a major growth engine. Alkali’s reforms and investments have delivered reconstructed classrooms, ICT hubs, modern learning centres and large-scale vocational programmes that have empowered thousands of young people. Across the Niger Delta, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) led by Managing Director Dr Samuel Ogbuku has intensified its educational footprint. With overseas scholarships, postgraduate support, teacher-training programmes, digital learning initiatives and the rehabilitation of science and technical laboratories, the NDDC is cultivating the next generation of engineers, environmental specialists and blue-economy professionals.
