In a statement, Dr. Law Mefor, the Commissioner for Information, stated that the restriction is aimed at facilitating a smooth electoral process. Mefor emphasized that the order is intended to ensure a peaceful and efficient conduct of the Anambra State Local Government Council Election. He clarified that only individuals engaged in election-related duties, including ANSIEC officials, accredited journalists, electoral observers, and emergency service vehicles such as ambulances and firefighters, will be permitted to travel during this period.
He urged the public to comply fully with the order to maintain peace and avoid legal consequences.
