Akeredolu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), passed away on December 27, 2023, due to complications from prostate cancer.
In an interview with Star News, Mrs. Akeredolu expressed her disappointment, stating that her husband ignored her advice and instead relied on spiritualists and pastors.
When asked if she had rejected prayers and spiritual interventions during Akeredolu’s illness, she firmly responded, “Yes.”
She questioned the effectiveness of religious rituals, saying, “What came out of their mountain climbing, blessed handkerchiefs, water, olive oil, etc., from the GOs and all the noisy prayers like people possessed by demons? If Aketi had listened to me, I wouldn’t be a widow.”
Mrs. Akeredolu also criticized the administration of Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, describing it as “rudderless.”
Commenting on President Bola Tinubu’s government, she stated that only those benefiting from the administration would rate it positively.
“You don’t need a soothsayer to tell you that all is not well in the country,” she remarked.
Regarding her political future, the former APC senatorial candidate for Imo East District affirmed that her ambition remains “absolutely” intact.
