In a statement issued on Tuesday, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, stating that police were alerted via a distress call around 11 am on March 24, 2025. Officers swiftly responded and arrived at the scene behind Zeberced Company in the Idu area, where they discovered the body of a woman, believed to have been struck by a moving train.
“The FCT Police responded to a distress call at 11 am on March 24, 2025, reporting an unconscious female on the railway tracks behind Zeberced Company in Idu. Upon arrival, officers found a lifeless, disfigured female body, believed to have been hit by a train,” the statement read.
The police confirmed that the woman’s remains were transported to Kubwa General Hospital, where she was declared dead. Efforts are underway to identify the victim and notify her family.
“The remains were moved to Kubwa General Hospital, where her death was confirmed. We are working to identify her and inform her relatives,” Adeh added.
