Kano’s Political Storm: Another Commissioner Resigns, Adding To Uncertainty

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has accepted the resignation of Muhammad Inuwa Idris, the commissioner for the newly established Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services.

Idris, a retired major-general, was appointed to the position in August 2024. In a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf expressed sincere appreciation for Mr. Idris’s contributions during his short tenure.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The governor praised the former commissioner for his invaluable role in establishing the ministry and commended his dedication to public service.

“We are grateful to Major General Muhammad Inuwa Idris (Rtd) for his steadfast commitment to the development of Kano State, beginning with his distinguished military career. We wish him a peaceful and fulfilling retirement as he steps away from public service,” Governor Yusuf remarked.

The governor further highlighted Idris’s service to the country, emphasizing that although his tenure was brief, he had laid a strong foundation for the ministry’s operations, which his successor can build upon for continued success.

This follows the resignation of another commissioner, Mohammed Diggol, on January 5, who served as the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation
