N100 Billion Boost: Okpebholo Secures N100bn Loan Backed by Edo Lawmakers!

Governor Monday Okpebholo has received the green light from the Edo Assembly to obtain a ₦100 billion loan for statewide infrastructural development.

The Edo State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, approved a ₦100 billion loan request by Governor Monday Okpebholo to fund infrastructure development across the state.

The approval came after the Assembly received a formal request in a letter addressed to Speaker Blessing Agbebaku. The letter, signed by Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, indicated that the contractual loan would be sourced from First Bank of Nigeria Plc.

Titled “Request for Legislative Approval of ₦100 Billion”, the letter clarified that the funds are intended to support contractors handling various infrastructural projects throughout Edo State.

During the Committee of the Whole, lawmakers unanimously backed the loan request, stating it was necessary to ensure the completion of ongoing development initiatives across the state.

Following the endorsement, Speaker Agbebaku instructed the Clerk, Yahaya Omognai, to transmit clean copies of the resolution to the governor for prompt execution.
