This figure represents the ministry’s revenue from trade testing services in 2023. Additionally, the ministry confirmed that between 2019 and 2022, they amassed certification revenue of N65.6 million.
Dr. Tiza Shaakaa, the Deputy Director of the Department of Skills Development and Certification, presented these figures in Abuja.
He elaborated that the department’s skills acquisition programs trained 23,340 unemployed Nigerians in vocational and technical fields over three years starting from 2020.
In the breakdown, 3,192 individuals received training in 2020, followed by 8,903 in 2021, and another 11,245 in 2022. Among these trainees, 100 received starter packs in 2020, 870 in 2021, and 2,200 in 2022.
