In a recent development, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Council has announced the promotion of several officers to higher ranks. Among the distinguished individuals elevated to the position of Air Vice Marshal is Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information at Headquarters NAF (HQ NAF). Additionally, a group of accomplished officers has been promoted to the rank of Air Commodore. This includes Valentine Oraeki, Dogari Apyeyak, Ali Idris, Mohammed Ahmed, Shehu Chindo, Abubakar Mohammed, Logomfa Nansoh, Abraham Sule, Idris Suleiman, Oluwaseun Oluwatayo, Ibrahim Shehu, Yahaya Bashir, Adolphus Akins, Rilwanu Abdullahi, Babangida Zakari, and David Bigila.

In response to this significant achievement, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, released a statement. According to the statement, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly promoted senior officers. The CAS emphasized the importance of thoughtful consideration and critical evaluation of the current security landscape. He urged the officers to contribute actionable strategies to address the challenges facing the nation’s security. The CAS reminded them that with increased recognition comes added responsibility, urging them to go the extra mile in safeguarding the lives and properties of all Nigerians.
