NAFDAC Raises Alarm Over Unsafe Whippy Mayonnaise Brand, Urges Caution and Vigilance

The agency made this discovery after receiving a consumer complaint in Ilorin, Kwara state.

Upon investigation, NAFDAC traced the product back to its source, SNF FOODS Limited, in Onitsha, Anambra.

Laboratory analysis conducted by the agency revealed unsatisfactory outcomes, indicating that the product had become rancid and exhibited a different color from the original mayonnaise….CONTINUE READING

In response to the findings, NAFDAC directed all zonal directors and state coordinators to conduct surveillance and remove the implicated batches of the unwholesome product from the market.

The agency urged distributors, retailers, and consumers to exercise caution and vigilance to avoid the consumption, sale, or distribution of the affected Whippy Real Mayonnaise.

NAFDAC advised anyone in possession of the implicated batches of the product to submit the stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.

Additionally, individuals who have consumed the product and experienced adverse reactions are encouraged to seek immediate medical advice from qualified healthcare professionals.

The public is also encouraged to report any suspicion of the distribution and sale of unwholesome packaged food products to the nearest NAFDAC office or through designated communication channels.
