Drawing a parallel with the United States, Ezekwesili argued that Senate rules in the U.S. do not take precedence over the Constitution. In a post on X, the former Minister emphasized that all Senate rules must be consistent with constitutional principles, highlighting that any rule found unconstitutional would be deemed invalid. Ezekwesili criticized the Nigerian Senate for allegedly placing its rules above the Constitution, describing it as a dangerous trend and calling on citizens to address this democratic anomaly.
