“Nowhere in the world has labour ever tampered with the national grid. It is treason! A treasonable felony is economic sabotage, you don’t do that,” Akume declared.

He further expressed concerns over efforts to revitalize Nigeria’s economy, noting that significant reforms had been initiated under the current administration despite inheriting a state of zero foreign reserves.

“When the President assumed office, our foreign reserves were depleted, but extensive reforms have since been implemented,” Akume remarked. He pointed to contentious measures like fuel subsidy removal, urging public understanding amidst criticism.

“We are navigating through turbulent times, rebuilding an economy that was left in disarray. We must work collectively towards national recovery,” he added.
