NBA Chairman Mr. Yemi Abiona accused the speaker of inciting the attack on Yusuf, claiming that the speaker verbally abused him before his aides physically assaulted the lawyer during the execution of a court order with police and bailiffs present at Osogbo’s Technical area on Friday.

In response, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, denied the speaker’s involvement in the incident, asserting that angry individuals at the scene attempted to attack Yusuf, but he was rescued by a security aide from the speaker’s entourage.

Yusuf recounted the events, stating, “We were carrying out a court order around the Technical area, opposite Landero filling station, Osogbo. Some individuals on the premises were already complying with the order, vacating the area. Shortly after, the Speaker arrived with his convoy and ordered the police and bailiff to leave. I cautioned him on the legality of his actions and gestured towards him, which he interpreted as an insult. His aides then assaulted me under his supervision.”
