Netizens React As PDP Crisis Escalates: Factional Secretaries Clash At Wadata Plaza

Both Ude-Okoye and Anyanwu have confirmed their intentions to The PUNCH in separate interviews on Sunday.
the Court of Appeal recently upheld Ude-Okoye as the PDP national secretary, but Anyanwu continues to dispute the ruling, asserting his position as the rightful party secretary. This intensifying division has further deepened the rift within the PDP, with top officials and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) aligning themselves with either Ude-Okoye or Anyanwu.
The ongoing dispute traces back to the 2023 elections when the South-East zone nominated Ude-Okoye to replace Anyanwu, who had been selected as the PDP’s candidate for the Imo State governorship election. This nomination led to a series of legal battles that culminated in a December 2024 Court of Appeal ruling in favor of Ude-Okoye.
The tension heightened on December 31, 2024, when Ude-Okoye attempted to assume office at the party headquarters, but Anyanwu ordered the secretariat’s closure until January 13, creating a volatile situation. In response, Ude-Okoye has reaffirmed his legitimacy based on the court ruling, dismissing concerns about conflict and stressing his dedication to maintaining party unity.
