New Federal Polytechnic Named After Tinubu As FG Approves Institution In Abuja

The Federal Government has approved the establishment of a Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, one of the largest estates in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

This development was revealed in a letter dated January 16, 2025, addressed to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

According to the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, the polytechnic has been named Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic, Gwarinpa, in honor of President Bola Tinubu. The institution aims to advance technological, vocational, and entrepreneurial training in alignment with Nigeria’s national education policy.

Alausa also noted that a technical team from the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) would soon visit and inspect proposed sites. The final approval will be based on the team’s report.

Meanwhile, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), praised Tinubu for approving the polytechnic. In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs, Kingsley Madaki, Maikalangu also expressed gratitude to the FCT Minister for facilitating this initiative.

Maikalangu described the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa as a “dream come true,” emphasizing its significance in fostering progress for residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
