Agidigbo shared this insight during a tour of the new ICU with Delta State’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Johnson Erijo, and other senior government officials on Monday. He explained that the pandemic highlighted the urgent need for such facilities, which include continuous oxygen flow and essential equipment like ventilators and monitoring stations.

“This ICU represents our commitment to supporting public health by mobilizing private sector resources,” Agidigbo stated. “This is the first ICU of its kind in Delta State, and we hope it will set a precedent for future private contributions to healthcare.”

Erijo expressed admiration for the state-of-the-art equipment and emphasized the importance of private sector involvement in state development. He indicated that he would update Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on the project’s status and discuss the formal handover process.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Mr. Goodnews Agbi, praised Agidigbo’s initiative, highlighting how such projects could ease the burden on government resources. He also expressed gratitude and acknowledged that similar efforts would significantly benefit the state.
