New Nigerian Sports Minister John Enoh Acknowledges Learning Curve Following Appointment

John Owan Enoh, Nigeria’s newly appointed Minister of Sports, has revealed that he began familiarizing himself with sports only after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assigned him the sports portfolio.

Enoh’s appointment has raised criticism due to his lack of experience in the sports industry. He clarified that he did not lobby President Tinubu for the role and that he is committed to fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to him.
Despite his absence of prior sports background, Enoh is determined to get up to speed and contribute to the development of sports in Nigeria.
“I didn’t lobby to be sports minister. President Bola Tinubu saw me fit and decided to put the task of building sports in Nigeria. Since I was assigned this portfolio, I have been reading about sports,” Enoh shared with journalists.
