This directive, identified as ‘the Niger State Green Economy Initiative Order (No.3), 2023,’ mandates the alignment of the Green Economy Initiative with the State Blueprint.
The Blueprint delineates the strategic pillars and provides a comprehensive framework of key performance indicators, targets, and timelines for the transition towards a green economy.
The Executive Order further stipulates that the Niger State Government will develop a State-Wide Land Use and Economic Development Plan.
This plan aims to guide investment decisions, ensuring that investments contributing to the stabilization of the green transition are well-coordinated and strategically planned.
All state Ministries, Departments, and Agencies have been instructed to strictly adhere to the Green Economy Initiative, with the Order specifying that violations will result in appropriate sanctions.
Governor Bago, who signed the Order ahead of the weekly State Executive Council meeting in the Council Chambers at Government House, Minna, expressed gratitude to Media Practitioners for their extensive coverage of his administration.
He encouraged them to maintain their efforts. The governor emphasized that the Executive Order is essential for the effective implementation of the Green Economy Policy, underscoring its critical importance.
