These sentiments were expressed during the signing of seven significant agreements between Nigeria and Qatar, witnessed by Tinubu and the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, following closed-door discussions at the Presidential Palace in Doha. The pacts encompassed cooperation in education, regulation of employment, the establishment of a joint business council, youth and sports collaboration, tourism, business events, and efforts to combat illicit trade in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

The signing ceremony involved key figures, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and representatives from the Government of the State of Qatar. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, highlighted these developments in a statement titled ‘President Tinubu welcomes multi-sectoral agreements with Qatar: Set to receive Qatar’s investment team in Abuja.’

Before the signing event, President Tinubu assured Qatar of Nigeria’s openness to investors, citing ongoing reforms supporting innovation, return on investments, and multiculturalism. He praised the Qatari government’s developmental achievements, expressing admiration for the rapid and high-quality progress in the country. Tinubu underscored Nigeria’s potential as an investment destination, emphasizing the vast market of over 200 million skilled and industrious Nigerians.

While acknowledging short-term challenges, President Tinubu affirmed the dynamism and talent of the Nigerian people within the current government, asserting that Nigeria offers unparalleled returns on investment.
