Nigerians nationwide have taken to the streets in large numbers to protest hunger and economic hardship under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. According to Naija News, prominent human rights lawyers including Femi Falana, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, and Deji Adeyanju, as well as former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore and the Take It Back movement, have all called for a national protest against poor governance and worsening economic conditions…….. In Benin, demonstrators have defied government directives and set up roadblocks on multiple roads. Meanwhile, in Ugbowo, Edo State, the atmosphere remains calm with protesters assembling at Akpakpava Road, near Ring Road, the officially designated protest site.
In Abuja, hunger protesters gathered at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, adhering to a court order that confines them to the venue. They arrived as early as 6 a.m., chanting solidarity songs, while heavy security presence was observed at the site.
