A squadron leader from the Nigerian Air Force, Nurudeen Popoola, who was abducted in December of the previous year, has been set free. As of Saturday, Popoola is undergoing medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital, according to reports from BUSHRADIOGIST.

The kidnapping incident took place at their residence within the National Eye Centre Quarters, Mando, Kaduna, where Popoola, his wife Ganiyat Olawale-Popoola, and their cousin Abdulmumuny Folaranmi were all taken captive.

In February of this year, a family member had appealed to the authorities to secure the release of the abducted victims. The latest update reveals that the Airforce officer was released after an undisclosed ransom amount was paid.

Despite the positive development, the kidnappers are still holding Popoola’s wife and cousin. The family expressed gratitude for the release of the Airforce officer but remains concerned about the well-being and safe return of the remaining hostages.
