Nigerian Bishop Criticizes Churches Operating As Profit Enterprises....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Catholic Bishop Stephen Mamza of Yola expressed distress over the increasing trend of churches in Nigeria being established primarily for profit-making purposes rather than for spiritual edification. He lamented the proliferation of ministries driven solely by financial gain, emphasizing that many individuals enter the ministry with the intention of attaining wealth and luxury.

Addressing congregants at St Augustine’s Catholic Church in Bekaji, Yola, during a Mass commemorating World Communications Sunday, Bishop Mamza highlighted the saturation of churches in Yola, remarking that the motives behind their establishment often prioritize financial gain over spiritual fulfillment.

The bishop recounted an encounter with a church leader who sought to sell his church due to its lack of financial success, illustrating the prevalent mindset focused on monetary profit within certain religious circles.

Furthermore, Bishop Mamza underscored the importance of fostering genuine human connection and empathy amid the advancement of technology, emphasizing the significance of authentic communication in contemporary society.
