Nigerian Lady Breaks Silence After Married Woman Mocks Her For Not Having Children

A Nigerian woman has recounted an uncomfortable encounter at a beauty salon after a fellow customer allegedly mocked her for not having children during a disagreement over the woman’s crying son.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the woman narrated the incident in a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, explaining that she was eating chips when the other customer’s six-year-old son began crying and reaching for her food.

She said she initially declined to share her chips with the child. However, the boy’s mother reportedly appealed to her to give him some to calm him down, prompting her to eventually offer him a portion.

According to her account, the child continued crying and demanded the entire pack, leaving his mother struggling to settle him. The woman claimed that the mother eventually asked her to surrender the remaining chips, promising to purchase another pack for her.

The situation reportedly became uncomfortable when she questioned why the boy was crying excessively, suggesting that he might have learnt that persistent crying would make his mother give in to his demands.

She recalled telling the mother, “Why is he crying like that? Maybe because he knows that you will give him.”

However, the discussion allegedly took a personal turn when the mother asked whether she was married and had children.

The woman said she confirmed that she was married but did not have children, prompting the mother to respond, “That’s why.”

She explained that the remark left her speechless, as she did not expect their disagreement over the child’s behaviour to become an opportunity to make a personal comment about her circumstances.

The woman eventually handed the remaining chips to the boy and reportedly asked him to forgive her.

Her account has sparked conversations about parenting styles, boundaries and the tendency for disagreements to escalate when people bring sensitive personal matters into an argument.

The incident also highlights how comments about marriage and childlessness can hurt individuals, particularly when such remarks are made in response to an unrelated disagreement.
