The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), FCT Command, has apprehended Pascal Akuh, a 28-year-old man, for fabricating his own abduction. FCT Police Commissioner, CP Ben Igweh, disclosed this during a press briefing held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Akuh admitted to orchestrating the scheme to assess his fiancée’s feelings for him.

According to CP Ben Igweh, the incident unfolded on March 14, 2023, around 5:30 pm when Akuh Chinemezeh, Akuh’s brother, reported to the Apo Divisional Headquarters claiming that Pascal had informed him of his arrest by the police and subsequent detention at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). However, subsequent investigations revealed that Pascal was not held in any police facility as claimed.

Utilizing tracking technology, law enforcement traced Pascal’s vehicle to a locality in Wumba, Apo. Acting on this lead, officers from the Apo Division mobilized to the area, conducting thorough searches, and eventually located Pascal at a hotel in Lokogoma later that night, where he was taken into custody.

During questioning, Pascal confessed to engineering the entire abduction scenario as a prank to gauge his fiancée’s true sentiments towards him.

This incident highlights the consequences of irresponsible behavior and the importance of sincerity in relationships.
