Babajide Israel Adebanjo, a Nigerian man, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest duration of twerking. On January 14 in Lagos, Adebanjo twerked continuously for 3 hours and 30 minutes, as confirmed by Guinness World Records on their official website. Previously, the record was held by Elena Sofie Sterlini of Austria, who twerked for 2 hours and 1 minute on January 3, 2023, driven by personal goals.

In related records, the Guinness World Record for the most people twerking simultaneously is 406, set by Big Freedia and Central City Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 15, 2014.
