The visit comes in the wake of the burial of hundreds of bodies resulting from an attack by armed bandits across various local governments in Plateau State on Christmas Eve.

Among the governors in the delegation were Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dapo Abiodun, Biodun Oyebanji, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq representing Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, and Kwara states, respectively.

The presence of other governors such as Abba Kabir Yusuf, Hope Uzodimma, Yahaya Bello, Dauda Lawal, Umo Enoh, Dikko Radda, Sim Fubara, Diri, Bala Mohammed, and more has sparked public outrage.

The photos from the visit have triggered criticism from Nigerians who question the appropriateness of such a gathering amid the ongoing national tragedy. The online community expresses concern about the prioritization of political visits over addressing urgent matters, further emphasizing the need for swift and decisive action in the face of the recent atrocities in Plateau State
