Highlighting prayer as a powerful tool against despair, Shettima specifically urged for divine guidance, asking God to grant President Tinubu wisdom and strength to lead Nigeria toward peace, unity, and prosperity. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Tafsir (Quranic recitation) at the State House Mosque in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday, Shettima emphasized the significance of prayer as a refuge for believers and a foundation for building destinies.
He reminded the audience that governance is a collective responsibility, not solely the government’s duty, and acknowledged the essential role of religious leaders as society’s moral compass in shaping values and guiding the community.
Shettima expressed, “Prayer is our greatest weapon against despair and the most powerful armor for those in leadership. Let us continue praying for our beloved nation and the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
He also prayed for Almighty Allah to grant Tinubu the wisdom, strength, and resilience needed to lead the country, protecting him from harm and guiding his efforts to serve the Nigerian people.
Reflecting on the values of Ramadan, Shettima urged the faithful to carry the lessons of sacrifice, discipline, and love beyond the holy month. He emphasized that true faith is demonstrated not just during Ramadan but through embodying its values in everyday life, encouraging acts of kindness, generosity, and love even after the month ends.
