Nigerians React As Eno Declares ‘I’ll Still Control PDP’ As He Moves To APC

This directive came during a State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting held on Thursday, where Governor Eno formally announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Sources present at the meeting told Vanguard that the governor expressed surprise that anyone would be unaware of his planned defection, saying, “Anyone who claims not to know I’m leaving the PDP is still living in the 18th century.”

Governor Eno cited his admiration for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and the desire to foster closer ties with the Federal Government as major reasons for his political shift.

He issued a firm ultimatum to his appointees, making it clear that he was not open to negotiations with anyone who refused to align with his political direction. “Except for elected officials like House of Assembly members and Local Government Chairmen, I have nothing to negotiate with you,” he stated.

In a bold declaration, Eno asserted his continued influence within the PDP, despite his defection: “Anyone thinking they can use the PDP structure against me after I leave is mistaken — I will still control it.”
