Nigerians React As PDP’s Diri Visits Tinubu After Supreme Court Victory, Defies Critics

Diri emphasized that the opposition’s unease and dissemination of false information about his visit to Tinubu following the Supreme Court’s confirmation of his presidential election victory is unfounded.
A video surfaced in which Diri extended his congratulations to Tinubu after the Supreme Court’s endorsement of his presidential election win.
Nonetheless, Diri stated that there was nothing extraordinary about his visit to Tinubu.
He conveyed this during the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) gubernatorial campaign trail in Igbedi community, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
Governor Diri emphasized that he had the liberty to extend his congratulations to President Tinubu in light of the Supreme Court’s verdict on the presidential election.
Furthermore, he clarified that his visit to the presidential villa was primarily to engage in discussions concerning critical state matters with the president, who, in his words, responded positively to the issues raised.
He stated, “On Thursday, I was in Abuja, and as most of you saw the trending video. The opposition is now agitated and propagating falsehoods. Naturally, such behavior is characteristic of them.
“As a sitting governor, when there is a sitting president, I do not owe them any explanation regarding my visit to the president.
If the Supreme Court confirms the president of the country, I, as a sitting governor, retain the right to pay a visit.
However, it is essential to note that I went for substantial state-related discussions, and I can affirm that Mr. President addressed all the issues I presented.
