Uchechi Kanu, spouse of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), recently visited her husband, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since 2021, following his arrest and extradition from Kenya.
In a radio address to IPOB members in the United Kingdom on Sunday, Uchechi revealed that her visit to the detained Biafra agitator was facilitated by Anambra South Senator, Ifeanyi Ubah.
Prior to this visit, Uchechi had faced repeated denials of access to her husband. However, this recent development marked a significant shift.
Expressing her gratitude, Uchechi praised Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and other Igbo politicians and governors for their concern regarding Kanu’s situation.
She acknowledged their efforts in addressing the unlawful detention of her husband, noting that many elites are working diligently behind the scenes to initiate discussions aimed at securing his release.
Uchechi’s acknowledgment of the support and efforts made by various individuals and political figures underscores the ongoing efforts to address Kanu’s situation and secure his release from custody.
