In an interview with ARISE NEWS, Galadima refuted the idea that the NNPP is a regional party, emphasizing that while it may not always be the majority in certain regions, it has a dedicated base of supporters who stand by its ideology. He stressed that the NNPP is grounded in principle and ideology, not political expediency, and remains committed to its values without compromising for power.

“We are a party of ideology and principle,” Galadima stated. “We don’t enter coalitions just for the sake of gaining power. We are satisfied with the platform we have. One day, we will grow this party and win the national election.”

Despite criticisms that the NNPP lacks influence outside certain regions, Galadima firmly rejected the notion, stating that the party doesn’t require political alliances to broaden its scope.

While some have labeled the NNPP as a regional party with a strong base in the North, Galadima insisted that the party’s influence is not limited to one area. “We have people across the country who believe in us. They may be a minority in some places, but they still stand by our ideals.”

Addressing the key political battleground of Lagos, Galadima reaffirmed that the NNPP has a presence in the state, even if not yet dominant. “We have influence all over. We have an office in Lagos, and we have supporters there. The fact that we are not the majority doesn’t mean we lack influence.”

Galadima also addressed rumors of internal divisions within the NNPP, dismissing them as politically motivated exaggerations. “If you say NNPP is in disarray, that’s your perspective. Perhaps those who say so are the ones sowing discord in parties,” he noted.

He concluded by clarifying that despite any factional disputes, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognizes only one legitimate NNPP. “Even if some claim to have multiple factions, if they aren’t recognized by INEC, they’re not a political party. The authentic NNPP is the one with the academic cap and book logo, with the red, white, red flag.”
