Edo protesters were captured standing their ground after security operatives fired shoots in the air. From the video, it seemed like the security operatives who were rumored to be police officers were on a patrol and got blocked by the angry Protesters, who were not ready to give way for them to pass. “No be lie, no road, we dey para, we wan dey fear, we dey play, afa no level” Edo protesters responded to the shot fired by the security operatives.
A two-day protest occurred in Benin city over the drastic increase in petrol prices (600 per litre). The protest was called off as Gov, Obaseki came to their aid, and gave a solution to the fuel price hike by setting up a committee to regulate the price of petrol sold at filling stations in the state. The verdict was the price will drop to N350/ Litre, effective from Saturday.
