President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep concern over the escalating insecurity in Northern Nigeria, describing it as a significant threat to national development and stability. Speaking during the 25th anniversary of the Arewa Consultative Forum in Kaduna on November 22, the President, represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. In an address titled “A Generation Summoned by a Crisis,” President Tinubu acknowledged that his administration inherited complex security issues, but emphasized that solutions are being pursued with renewed determination. He remarked that insecurity in any part of the nation affects the whole country, warning that progress cannot be achieved while parts of Nigeria remain paralyzed by fear and violence.
The President urged Nigerians, especially in the North, to rise with honesty and courage in addressing the crisis, stressing that missteps and challenges must not deter collective responsibility. He noted that hope is not lost, despite decades of dysfunction and polarisation, and called for unity and cooperation across ethnic and religious divides to overcome the current security threats.
