Nollywood, I’m Sorry!’ Ray Emordi Makes Dramatic Return To Acting Months After Music Exit
Nollywood actor Ray Emordi has made a return to the movie industry just months after announcing he was stepping away from acting to pursue a full-time music career.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The 35-year-old had revealed in February that he was putting his acting career on hold to focus on music, which he described as his lifelong passion. However, after spending four months away from film sets, Emordi says he has rediscovered his love for acting and is ready to return.
Announcing his comeback in a video shared on his YouTube channel, the actor explained that the break gave him the opportunity to rest, reflect, and regain the enthusiasm he had lost after years of an intense work schedule.
Emordi disclosed that he featured in nearly 300 productions—including feature films, television series, and short films—between 2017 and the end of 2025. He admitted that the demanding pace eventually left him physically and mentally drained.
Reflecting on his decision, he said he had taken on more projects than he could comfortably manage, leading to burnout.
“Nollywood, I am sorry. I stopped acting because I was tired. Imagine acting from 2017 till the end of last year, about 300 productions. Eight years without vacations. If you do something too much, you naturally become exhausted. I have only myself to blame. I took on too many movies, and I didn’t manage the workload properly.
“This time, I won’t overdo it. I will only take on enough work to satisfy me creatively without becoming physically exhausted. My general theme for acting is not to make money but to leave a positive impact. I want to leave a positive footprint in the world before I go,” he said.
