Nollywood Star Ariyiike Dimples Reveals Sh*cking Church Ordeal

In an interview on the Open Up podcast, Ariyiike revealed that a church elder had criticized her fashion sense, warning her she would go to hell for wearing a pencil skirt to church. The elder deemed her outfit “indecent,” which left the actress shocked and feeling unfairly judged.

Despite stepping away from church for a period, Ariyiike Dimples emphasized that she remains a practising Christian.

She explained, “In my community church, most people are elderly, and you barely see the youth. The younger generation has gone to other churches. It was very strict. Yes, you can have your doctrines, but there’s a way to teach them to young people without judging them harshly.

“The reason I stopped going was because I wore a pencil skirt, and an elderly woman said I would go to hell. I was so shocked and felt wrongly judged, so I avoided church for three years. Thankfully, I was already out of my parents’ house.

“The woman even reported me to my dad. I had to take a picture of the skirt and send it to my mum to prove I wasn’t dressed indecently. But my dad believed in the idea of the community raising a child. So I chose to distance myself from the community church to avoid further scrutiny.”
