I Said No! — Blessing Nze Reveals Why She Turned Down Husband’s Proposal

Nollywood actress Blessing Nze has opened up about the unexpected journey that transformed her friendship with fellow actor and husband, Stan Nze, into a romantic relationship and eventually marriage.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Blessing shared details of their relationship while appearing on The Life Pointe programme, where she recalled that she initially had no romantic interest in Stan and did not consider him someone she could eventually marry.

The actress said their first meeting did not leave a positive impression on her, revealing that she even complained about Stan’s mannerisms to a friend afterwards. She recalled seeing him as overly proud and said she initially regarded him as just another struggling actor in the industry.

Blessing said another encounter occurred when Stan was working on a movie in her estate and asked her to prepare breakfast for him. Although she fulfilled the request, she said the interaction did little to change her perception of him at the time.

According to the actress, their relationship remained strictly platonic for a considerable period, with both of them becoming so comfortable as friends that they even tried to help each other find romantic partners.

Blessing explained that Stan at one point was searching for a boyfriend for her, while she was also trying to find a girlfriend for him. She said neither of them imagined that their friendship would eventually lead to marriage.

The mother of one also reflected on her previous experiences with relationships, revealing that a series of heartbreaks had made her surrender her love life to God. She said she had even decided to remain celibate until marriage.

Blessing further disclosed that Stan was not the type of man she had envisioned ending up with, describing him as the opposite of her usual preference. She said she had previously been determined not to marry a man she perceived as struggling financially.

However, she said her perspective changed after she prayed for clarity about whether Stan was truly meant for her. Blessing recalled asking God to make Stan express his feelings before the end of the year if he was the right person for her.

According to her account, Stan eventually made his intentions known before the deadline she had set in her prayer. What began as an unlikely friendship therefore developed into a romantic relationship and ultimately culminated in marriage.
