Northern Elders Warned By Hayab: 2027 Election Threats Premature For Nigerians....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Rev. John Joseph Hayab, former Chairman of the Kaduna State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has voiced his disagreement with the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) over their premature stance on the 2027 election.
In a statement issued on Friday, Hayab criticized the NEF’s assertion that the North would not support Tinubu in the 2027 election, describing it as untimely and lacking in sound reasoning. He pointed to the positive indicators such as the strengthening of the Naira against the Dollar, suggesting that Tinubu’s performance is commendable compared to the current administration.
Hayab highlighted recent progress in addressing insecurity, particularly citing the swift rescue of Kuriga school children in Kaduna State. He contrasted this with previous incidents like the prolonged ordeal of parents whose children were kidnapped from Bethel Baptist School, emphasizing the need for collaboration with the government to tackle pressing issues like insecurity, hunger, and economic improvement.
Accusing the NEF of having ulterior motives and lacking genuine concern for national progress, Hayab urged them to channel their efforts towards constructive engagement with the government. He called for unity and constructive dialogue, cautioning against divisive statements that could exacerbate existing tensions in the country.
Hayab challenged groups like the NEF to leverage their influence to support and hold leaders accountable for the betterment of Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of promoting national unity and offering pragmatic solutions to the challenges facing the nation.
In conclusion, Hayab stressed the need for elder statesmen to play a unifying role and provide constructive criticism to foster national development. He cautioned against actions and statements that could sow further division and confusion in the country, advocating instead for dialogue and collaboration towards achieving common goals.
