Dr. Olusola Odumosun, Commandant of the NSCDC’s FCT Command, conveyed this message on Tuesday during a six-day refresher training course for supervisors and operatives of private guards in Abuja. Represented by Deputy Commandant DCC Jackson Igbinosa, Odumosun expressed concern over the increasing number of unregistered private security firms.
He emphasized that the NSCDC is the sole agency authorized to register private guards and will ensure these companies are properly vetted, as security issues cannot be overlooked.
Odumosun urged training participants to leverage the knowledge gained to serve as effective representatives of their organizations and contribute to creating a crime-free society. He noted the importance of ongoing training for private guards, especially in light of the current security challenges in the country.
In his welcome address, Tijani Usman, head of the private guards company within the command, praised the FCT Commandant for addressing security threats in the region.
