Obasanjo: Operation Feed The Nation Would Have Advanced Agricultural Self-Sufficiency

Obasanjo made these remarks in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Thursday.

The former president also encouraged Nigerians to focus on livestock farming, urging the Oyo State Government to capitalize on the state’s potential by transforming it into a dairy production hub. He highlighted the importance of harnessing the state’s capacity for livestock and dairy farming.

Obasanjo further called on the state government to educate and equip local farmers with the necessary knowledge on dairy farming techniques and best practices, stressing the potential for large-scale livestock development.

In his address, Governor Seyi Makinde reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for businesses to flourish. Represented by his deputy, Mr. Bayo Lawal, the governor assured stakeholders that the government would continue to prioritize security and infrastructure development, as well as policies that support business growth.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to promote agricultural and economic development in the state.
