Obi Played A Dangerous Game With the Church’ – Tinubu’s Adviser Explodes
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has ruled out the possibility of former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, clinching the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), or African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Bwala argued that Obi — who secured 6,101,533 votes in the 2023 polls to finish second behind Tinubu’s 8,794,726 — would not only miss out on a presidential ticket but might also fail to be considered for a vice-presidential slot.
Reflecting on the last election, Bwala alleged that Obi exploited “dangerous rhetoric” to sway the church in the North-Central, misleading Christians into believing he would “return the country to the church,” while in the South-East, his influence was overshadowed by Atiku Abubakar’s support base.
“I can assure you that in the South-East, President Bola Tinubu will secure four to six times more votes than he did in 2023,” Bwala declared.
He further claimed that Obi’s 2023 momentum has collapsed, asserting that more than half of his supporters have abandoned him because his campaign was “built on rhetoric and division” rather than policies and governance plans.
Bwala also dismissed Obi’s prospects in the South-South, noting that most governors in the region now back Tinubu.
“When the President came in, most South-South governors were PDP. Tell me a state in that region today that is not supporting Asiwaju,” he challenged.
